Professional Christmas light installation covers the whole season rather than a single afternoon: design, commercial-grade materials, installation, in-season repairs, removal in January and storage until next November. The pitch is straightforward — you get the display without the ladder, the tangled box, or the one dead section nobody can find.
Why hire this out
Falls from ladders spike every December, and roofline work in cold weather is exactly the scenario that produces them. That is the honest first reason.
The second is that it looks better. Consumer light strings from a big-box store are cut to generic lengths and fade unevenly within two seasons. Professional installations use commercial-grade product cut to your specific rooflines, with fasteners appropriate to your gutter, shingle and trim — so it follows the architecture instead of approximating it.
The third is that it stays working. A DIY display that loses a section in week two stays broken until January. In-season repairs are part of what we do.
What the service covers
The whole cycle, not just the hanging:
- Design — a walk of the property and a plan for rooflines, peaks, columns, trees and walkways
- Materials — commercial-grade lighting, cut to your measurements, in the colour and bulb style you choose
- Installation — fastened appropriately to each surface, with no staples into shingles and no nails into trim
- In-season maintenance — if a section fails, we come back and fix it
- Removal — taken down in January, on a schedule, without you thinking about it
- Storage — labelled by property and kept until next season, so year two is faster and cheaper
Why this page exists in August
Because search engines do not rank a page the week you publish it. Pages need time to be crawled, indexed and to accumulate the signals that decide where they sit — and holiday searches begin in earnest in October.
A page published in November is competing from a standing start in the middle of the season. A page published in August has had three months to settle before anyone starts looking.
So: booking is not open yet, but the list is. If you want a slot, get on it now. Installation capacity in this trade is finite — it is a small number of weeks, and the calendar genuinely does fill.
The best time to think about Christmas lights is the month nobody is thinking about Christmas lights.
Homes and businesses
Residential work is rooflines, peaks, columns, entryways, wrapped trees and walkway lighting. Most homes are a single-day installation once the design is settled.
Commercial work runs to a different rhythm. Storefronts, town-square businesses and anything customer-facing want to be lit before the shopping season starts rather than in step with residential timing, so commercial installs are scheduled earlier.
For businesses there is a straightforward argument: a lit storefront in a small town is genuinely a competitive advantage for six weeks, and it costs less than most of the advertising you would otherwise buy for that period.
How it is priced
First season costs more than subsequent ones, because year one includes the materials cut to your property. From year two you are paying for installation, maintenance, removal and storage against lighting you already own.
The variables are linear footage of roofline, height and pitch, how many trees and columns are in the plan, and whether the design is a simple roofline outline or something more involved.
Everything comes as a written quote after a walk of the property. Get on the list now and we will schedule that walk in early autumn.
